Reflecting on the strategies of early cinema, European propaganda posters, and classic ukiyo-e block prints, Endi Poskovic's graphic works merge visual representation with text, often shifting the reading of the imagery through continuous representation and re-contextualization. Poskovic earned his BFA from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo, and an MFA from the State University of New York, Buffalo. Poskovic has exhibited extensively including Taipei Biennial, Krakow Triennial, Deutsche Internationale Grafik Triennale Frechen, Egyptian Triennial, Tallinn Triennial, Ljubljana Biennale, and la Biennale internationale d'estampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivières. His work is in numerous public and private collections worldwide, including the Art Institute of Chicago, Berlin Kupferstich-Kabinet, Fogg Art Museum-Harvard University, Philadelphia Museum of Art, New Orleans Museum of Art, Royal Antwerp Museum of Fine Arts, Belgium, Poskovic is an Associate Professor of Art and Design at the University of Michigan School of Art and Design. The Bemis Center previously presented his solo exhibition Endi Poskovic:They Are All Indispensible.
