Allison Renshaw creates abstract paintings
characterized by warm, saturated colors and
bulbous organic shapes which she disrupts with
deliberate gestural marks to alter the flow of the
composition. She has been an artist-in-
residence in numerous programs, including
three times at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center
in Snowmass Village, CO. Renshaw has
exhibited her work widely and had a solo
exhibition at Quint Contemporary Art in La Jolla,
CA. She received her BA from Pepperdine
University and an MFA from the Maryland
Institute College of Art in Baltimore. An
associate faculty member at MiraCosta College
in Oceanside, California, Renshaw's work has
been reviewed in such publications as Art in
America, the Baltimore Sun and Articulate
Magazine, among others.
